Mace Construct will adopt the name Forco after trading under its current name until the new year, the UK contractor has said. The company described the new name as short, impactful and easy to pronounce.
The change follows the March separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two businesses. Under that agreement, Mace Consult retains the Mace brand, while the construction arm will move to Forco and set out a new corporate strategy alongside productivity targets running to 2030.
Mark Reynolds, executive chair, said the construction business had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to move the industry forward. He said the Forco name reflects a commitment to being the UK’s most forward-thinking contractor and its most productive by 2030.
Reynolds added that the culture, values and people behind the business would remain, despite the change in name and brand. Clients should expect the same teams, the same approach to delivery and the same focus on creating lasting places and infrastructure, he said.
The strategy and productivity targets are due to be set out alongside the name change. Their practical effect on projects, procurement and delivery performance will depend on how those plans are defined and implemented.
