Three weatherproof diesel generator units sit on a snow-dusted remote work site, with cabling suggesting direct 600V power distribution.

Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators configured for remote Canadian work sites, giving contractors a temporary-power option that the company says is tailored to local electrical and fuel requirements and aimed exclusively at Canadian contractors.

The generators are offered in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1,200 kW capacities at 600V. Aggreko says the models are configured to meet and exceed local market needs and will be available exclusively to Canadian contractors. All three units are CSA and UN31A compliant, according to the company, covering Canadian electrical and fuel regulations.

600V output on the largest unit

The 1,200 kW model includes onboard 600V capability, which Aggreko says removes the need for additional step-up transformers. The company states that direct 600V output can reduce project complexity, improve cost-efficiency and limit potential points of failure. Aggreko says the feature gives customers a competitive edge for large industrial loads where 600V is often required.

Aggreko positions the 145 kW and 210 kW models as canopy units that can be deployed quickly for immediate energy needs. The 1,200 kW unit is the largest of the three and is aimed at larger industrial loads. The three models join a Canadian fleet that ranges from 25 kW to 1,200 kW.

Remote industries and data centres

Paul Nascimento, Aggreko's managing director for Canada, said the company tailored its most advanced generators for Canadian customers because the market is important to the business. He cited large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast, remote territories, along with active construction and data centre sectors. According to Nascimento, Canada has clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are both powerful and precisely configured, and the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators pair new technology with hardware suited to local operating requirements.

Aggreko says its Canadian service centres support customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events, deploying temporary power for a range of applications. The company describes the new generators as part of a broader effort to provide reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial use, including remote work sites and large industrial loads.

All three models are said to offer high fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. Aggreko also points to Canada's expanding data centre industry, where provincial regulators are looking to limit how much power operators draw from the grid. The Tier 4 Final generators are intended to supply off-grid energy that keeps data centres running while limiting disruption to surrounding communities, the company says.
